Presence of Ergosterol in Light‐Grown and Dark‐Grown Euglena gracilis Z

The results show, in addition to the previously reported sterols, the presence of ergosterol and 24S‐Δ5,7,22‐stigmastatrienol, two Δ5,7‐sterols. Ergosterol represents respectively 30% and 73% of the total sterols in green and white Euglena gracilis Z.
