Magnetic circular dichroic spectra of various ligand adducts of bovine carbonic anhydrase and high performance liquid chromatography of carbonic anhydrase

Bertini et al. proposed that the various ligand adducts of Co(II)-bovine carbonic anhydrase II (Co(II)-BCA II) have various coordination geometry (tetrahedral, tetrahedral if and only if five-coordinate, five-coordinate) on the basis of absorption spectra. Hirose and Kidani also showed that chelate...

Zusammenfassung:Bertini et al. proposed that the various ligand adducts of Co(II)-bovine carbonic anhydrase II (Co(II)-BCA II) have various coordination geometry (tetrahedral, tetrahedral if and only if five-coordinate, five-coordinate) on the basis of absorption spectra. Hirose and Kidani also showed that chelate ligands coordinate to the cobalt ions in Co(II)-BCA II as a bidentate ligand and form the five-coordinate geometry. Magnetic circular dichroic (MCD) spectra are very useful for estimating the coordination geometry of cobalt complexes. Therefore, the authors measured the MCD spectra to confirm the coordination geometry of various adducts of Co(II)-BCA II. Bovine carbonic anhydrase II has been analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), using a TSK column.
