Subdural tapping and irrigation for the treatment of chronic subdural hematoma in adults

A new technique for the treatment of chronic subdural hematoma by tapping and irrigation was shown by computed tomography to be safe and reliable in 39 patients. The basis for such treatment is discussed in light of the current theories of the pathogenesis of chronic subdural hematoma.
