Nosogenic prehension of the nasus by a neonate: a resumption of fetal posture

Occlusion of the nares by the same hand on three occasions, producing respiratory obstruction and cyanosis in a newborn infant in the immediate post-delivery period is described. It is presumed that this unusual behavior represented a temporary resumption of the fetal posture.
