Energetics and electrogenicity of the sarcoplasmic reticulum calcium pump

In this review the authors evaluate the energetics of muscular Ca turnover from different view points; (a) maintenance and resttution of the resting gradient, (b) transformation of chemical into osmotic energy, and (c) membrane permeabilities interfering with passive and active Ca movement.
