In the cases with three unsuccessful palpation-guided vascular punctures, the CDS-assisted technique was successful after 1.66 attempts on the average. It is concluded that CDS-assisted vascular puncture is a fast and safe alternative for puncturing a pulseless vessel or for puncturing under difficult conditions.
