Unusual Manifestations of Hemorrhage During Technetium-99m Red Cell Blood Pool Imaging

Two unusual cases of hemorrhage in the pelvis as noted by technetium-99m red cell blood pool imaging are presented. The first case illustrates bleeding into the right rectus sheath with the development of a hematoma. The second case shows post-traumtic hemorrhage at the site of the sigmoid colon with resulting intraperitoneal and bowel accumulation of technetium-99m labeled red blood cells.
