Double staining revealed that nuclear receptors (androgen or estrogen) co-existed with cytoplasmatic receptors (LH or FSH) in the same cells. The results demonstrate the presence of gonadotropin and gonadal steroid receptors in human pinealocytes from infancy to old age.
