Zusammenfassung: | The emphasis of this article is on experimental methodology and, specifically, on the separation of DNA adducts by HPLC. Other topics are discussed because they relate to the preparation of samples for analysis and to the interpretation of HPLC data. These include: the modification of DNA, the release of modified deoxynucleosides and bases from DNA, and methods of establishing the identity of these derivatives after they have been separated by HPLC. Since an important related question is whether these DNA modifications are repaired, factors which determine the feasibility of repair studies will also be considered. |
