On Low-Barrier Hydrogen Bonds and Enzyme Catalysis

The contention that low-barrier hydrogen bonds support enzyme catalysis by means of 'resonance stabilization' is disputed. It is suggested that an opposite, destabilization process occurs. Two replies are included.
