Atypical Endothelial Cells with a Number of Filaments in Growing Blood Vessels after Gastro-Gastrostomy

Cells having morphological similarities to smooth muscle cells were observed in newly formed endothelium after gastro-gastrostomy in rabbits. Several possibilities for the involvement of non-endothelial cells in the process of neovascularization are discussed.
