Zusammenfassung:Indomethacin has a moderately short half-life, usually requiring dosing twice a day or three times a day. A more convenient once or twice daily regimen is made possible with a sustained-release formulation. Following multiple-dose administration of either sustained-release indomethacin (Indocin SR) or conventional indomethacin, drug accumulation is low. Clinical studies indicate comparable safety and efficacy profiles between the two preparations. Pharmacokinetic information on both dosage forms is reviewed.
