Dodd and the Eaton Laboratories for supplying the compound used in this investigation. 5-nitro-2-furaldehyde semicarbazone, in amounts of 0.2 mg. to 10 mg. (in powdered form and in a washable base) reduced the number of group a beta hemolytic streptococci in artificially infected wounds of rabbits in a substantial number of experiments.
