A new site-specific endonuclease StuI from Streptomyces tubercidicus

A new sequence-specific endonuclease, StuI, produced by Streptomyces tubercidicus KCC S-0054, was identified and partially purified. StuI recognizes the hexanucleotide “palindromic” sequence ▪ and cleaves it at the middle, producing blunt ends.
