Induction of DNA synthesis in adult rat hepatocytes cultured in a serum-free medium

Isolated hepatocytes from adult rats were cultured for 3 days in a serum-free synthetic medium. Supplementation with fibrinogen digests, glucagon and insulin remarkably increased DNA synthesis in hepatocytes.
