Lymphocyte transformation after surgery in the neonate

Nine neonates born with congenital malformations were investigated for lyphocyte response to phytohemagglutinin (PHA). No significant change was found in the transformation response of lymphocytes to PHA after surgery, which is in contrast to studies reported in adults and older children.
