Complete solubilisation of whole feathers was observed after a 6-h incubation at temperatures ranging from 45
°C to 60
°C. The crude enzyme exhibited maximal activity at 60
°C and pH 8.5 or 55
°C and pH 9.0 using casein or keratin as substrates, respectively. |
