Zusammenfassung: | A newly developed vortex particle-in-cell (PIC) method is applied to the computation of three dimensional unsteady incompressible viscous flows in an unbounded domain. A diffusion model of the method is first tested, and a single vortex ring is then used as a case study. The propagation velocity of the single vortex ring is compared with Saffman's (1970) model, and the satisfaction of the conservation laws is examined numerically. Finally, the interaction between two vortex rings is investigated. (AIAA) |
