description ChasCeNT, the Chasma nuclear power plant's centre of nuclear training, is Pakistan's first simulator training facility for a nuclear power plant in Pakistan and is responsible for ensuring the competence of the operating personnel at the plant, a two-loop 325 MWe PWR. To date, the Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority has awarded 12shift supervisor and 30 shift engineer licences to Chasma plant-operating staff. A detailed description is provided of the 43-day training course for new operators, showing the role played by plant-specific simulator training. An account is also given of the retraining and additional services provided by ChasCeNT. Future plans for new simulator-based exercises are outlined.
