Zusammenfassung: | A framework for examining the competitiveness of firms in the food and agribusiness sector based on the firm's view of the vertical production‐marketing system is offered‐ Recent examples are used to illustrate the evolution of perspectives employed by firms in the sector away from the producer towards the consumer. The need for a systems perspective in addressing competitiveness is stressed throughout the article. Areas for further research are suggested. |
