Increases in terrestrial carbon storage from the last glacial maximum to the present
Evidence from ice cores indicates that concentrations of atmospheric carbon dioxide were lower by about 75 parts per million during the Last Glacial Maximum than during the present interglacial. The increases in the storage of terrestrial carbon in vegetation, soils and peatlands are discussed.
