Zusammenfassung:Tubular hypoplasia has been implicated in the controversy regarding optimal management of coarctation of the aorta. By establishing angiographic normal growth curves of the thoracic aorta at 8 different aortic sites and comparing these with patients with isolated coarctation of the aorta, we have found that isolated aortic coarctation is associated with significant distal transverse arch and isthmic hypoplasia, with median percentile values of the 15th and 18th percentiles of normal, respectively.
