But there are also immediate risks to students' lives, such as death from alcohol-associated illnesses, accidents and injuries; other accidents and unintentional injuries; suicide; and, rarely, of infectious diseases - notably meningococcal meningitis. Discusses the need for greater funding for preventive care to reduce such deaths, and introduces articles in this issue which look at some of these risks. |
