Zusammenfassung:It is possible to suspect the presence of Hirschsprung's disease in the newborn by clinical criteria if the infant does not pass meconium in the first 48 hours or by the presence of vomiting and abdominal distention. The disease occurs about once in 5000 live births, and the incidence of this disease being transmitted to offspring is about 3%.
