Gender comparisons in pulmonary embolism (results from the International Cooperative Pulmonary Embolism Registry [ICOPER])

Data from 2,454 patients enrolled in the International Coopeative Pulmonary Embolism registry were analyzed for gender comparisons. With regard to major prognostic factors, men had a higher risk of death than women after multivariate analysis (hazare ratio 1.7, 95% confidence interval 1.1 to 2.6).
