Zusammenfassung:Tophaceous gout of the spine is rare. We report the case of a 27-year-old male, renal transplant recipient, who presented with an acute onset of lower back pain. Radiological, biochemical and histo-pathological findings confirmed a diagnosis of tophaceous gout of the lumbar spine. We present the case history with the radiological findings and discuss the literature.
