Zusammenfassung:	To investigate the role of extracorporeal detoxification in cirrhotic patients with advanced hepatic encephalopathy not responding to medical treatment, 20 patients were randomized to receive six hours of additional sorbent dialysis or ongoing standardized medical treatment.
