Zusammenfassung: | Simms-Stewart et al present a case of a 78-year-old woman, a known diabetic and hypertensive with a history of uterine fibroids, with heavy bleeding per vaginam and a vaginal mass. Pelvic ultrasonography revealed a normal size uterus with an obscure endometrium. She was optimized and taken to the operating room for examination under anaesthesia (EUA). EUA revealed a smooth mass in the vagina which on further inspection appeared to be the uterus. An exploratory laparotomy was undertaken and this revealed a complete uterine inversion. Postoperatively, histopathology revealed an endometrial carcinoma, endometrioid type, FIGO grade 2 and leiomyomata uteri. |
