Zusammenfassung:	Described here is a case of constriction of the ileal loop caused by a volvulus forming on an internal hernia through the mesenteric opening in the anastomotic colonic stumps, following left laparoscopic-assisted hemicolectomy. This experience indicates the need for closure of mesenteric gaps with a continuous suture after laparoscopic-assisted left hemicolectomy.
