A Square-Planar Organoiron(III) Compound with a Spin-Admixed State
Square‐planar iron(III) species bearing no axial ligands can still behave as spin‐admixed systems (S=3/2, 5/2). The highly unusual homoleptic σ‐organoiron complex [Li(thf)4][FeIII(C6Cl5)4] (see anion in picture; green Cl, gray C) is an example of such a system.
