Zusammenfassung:	Abstract Yuremamine was isolated and characterized from the stem bark of MIMOSA TENUIFLORA. This plant is still used by indigenous peoples in North-eastern Brazil to make YUREMA, a psychoactive beverage that is used for medico-religious purpose (JUREMA PRETA or VINHO DA JUREMA, in Portuguese). The characterization of this novel compound by NMR and mass spectrometry introduces a new class of phytoindoles.
