May This adenosine stress cardiac magnetic resonance study examined the risk stratification in patients with coronary artery disease of intermediate angiographic severity, before the planned medical therapy. After more than 2 years of follow-up, 20% of the patients with a perfusion defect had a major adverse cardiac event or required target vessel revascularization compared with none of those without a perfusion defect. Therefore, adenosine stress cardiac magnetic resonance may help identify patients with coronary artery disease of intermediate angiographic severity who may require intensified medical therapy, close follow-up, and earlier consideration of revascularization.
