Zusammenfassung: | Tubo-ovarian abscess is usually polymicrobial with a preponderance of anaerobic organisms and the exact role of microorganism in abscess formation remains unclear. Tubo-ovarian abscess and uterine perforation in patients with abdominal complaints, diarrhea and vomiting should be considered, even in the presence of an ultrasound scan showing that the intrauterine device is in the uterine cavity. Here, Kolusari et al discuss ileal penetration and tubo-ovarian abscess in the presence of an intrauterine device. |
