Rushton and Racial Differences: Further Reasons for Caution

In reply to J. Philippe Rushton's response (1997 [see abstract 9803570]) to Winston's comments on Rushton's article on political correctness & the genetics of race (both, 1996 [see abstracts 9707983 & 9707980, respectively]) Winston addresses three issues: (1) factual errors in Rushton's statistical analysis, including collapsing of data from men & women, inappropriate adjustment for body size, & nonacknowledgement of the fundamental uncertainties about brain size; (2) the absurdity of Rushton's claim that his work is politically neutral as evidenced by association with white racist & neofascist groups & his failure to mention research that contradicts his theoretical premise; & (3) the existence of legitimate scholarly concerns over unjustified, pernicious claims regarding racial differences. 13 References.
