Zusammenfassung: | Parties in the postcommunist pluralist political system in Bulgaria are categorized here as: (1) groups of former dissidents & human rights advocates; (2) political parties outlawed 1947/48; & (3) groups emerging from the breakup of the Communist party. The socioeconomic & demographic characteristics of voters supporting the new parties are reported here, based on a Gallup Instit survey of 2,180 Bulgarians age 18+, conducted 1991. It is suggested that the parties & the electorate are mainly divided in terms of assessment of the communist past & the choice between liberalism & interventionism. 6 Tables.
