Zusammenfassung:A Kuhnian analysis of scientific paradigms is the point of departure for this response to the argument that feminism and narratology are separate enterprises. On the contrary, feminism seeks to deconstruct the illusion that scientific commitments are objective and inevitable. There are thus several questions that may be asked of narrative poetics: questions about the nature and scope of narratology, about the source of its understandings, about its language and methodology, and about its relationship to textual studies generally.
