Zusammenfassung:In a study of 179 prostitutes and other female juvenile delinquents, most subjects were found to be androgynous or undifferentiated in terms of their sex-role orientation. Female subjects with a masculine sex-role orientation were found to have a relatively higher incidence of prostitution. Results raise question about the assumption of a simple and uniformly positive relationship between androgyny and mental health in both adolescent and clinical populations.
