"Irfan" Revisited: Khomeini and the Legacy of Islamic Mystical Philosophy

Two texts written by Ayatollah Ruohollah Khomeini are examined, and Khomeini's irfan, or synthesis of philosophy, speculative theology and mystical thought that has its roots in the Middle Ages, is discussed.
