Zusammenfassung: | This report is based upon the data of a larger 1966 study of educational and mental retardation in Lahore, West Pakistan. The income and education of parents of 5-15 year old children are examined in terms of the admission of the children to school, and in terms of the age at which the children are admitted to school. The authors find that the children of low status parents are less likely ever to go to school, and if they do, are less likely to enter school at an early age, than the children of high status parents. |
