Zusammenfassung: | The production & consumption of social space related to the ruins of the Spanish mission town of San Antonio de Mucuno are explored, citing historical documents. The Spaniard Alonso Vazquez de Cisneros divided the Valley of Acequia, with its aqueduct system, into a number of towns, each with a population of native inhabitants. Each town had its plaza, church, living spaces, & collective spaced. The population of San Antonio de Mucuno, founded in 1620, was moved twice around the mission ruins, in 1692 & 1847, due to geological problems & a lack of water. Each time production & space were ordered around water. The ruins of the mission town were declared an historical landmark in 1991. 5 References. Adapted from the source document. |
