Zusammenfassung:Explores the disputable notion of euthanasia & different situations that fall under this category & analyzes legal characteristics of the criminal act of causing death on request. This new criminal act covers cases of voluntary, active, & passive euthanasia, but it is also a broader notion because it does not include only situations of ending suffering. The authors suggest an even lesser punishment for causing death on request when committed with compassion for the dying patient. Also, the authors believe it necessary to find a legal solution for cases of so-called involuntary passive euthanasia, ie, cases that cannot be deemed as causing death on request since the dying patient cannot express that request.
