Obituaries: Norman Anthony McQuown (1914-2005)

Along with Tax, McQuown is credited with emphasizing the multidisciplinary nature of these regional studies projects, which had components of geography, archaeology, ethnohistory, linguistics, and social anthropology and were cast in an ecological framework.\n During his UNAM residency, in 1982-83, when he held the Catedra Extraordinaria "Alfonso Caso y Andrade," he published El Microanatysis de entrevistas (1983), which made available in Spanish a comprehensive collection of the papers on the microanálisis method from the "Natural History of an Interview" manuscript.
