Zusammenfassung: | Within the research of new lay ecclesisastical movements in Croatia, conducted during June & July 2001 in the Institute of Social Sciences Ivo Pilar, one of the observed groups that participated was Franciscan Youth (FRAMA). The aim of this paper was to explore the sociodemographic structure of FRAMA's members, their motivation for affiliation, formation & religious practice as well as past experience, & achievements recognized by their members in everyday life. Also presented are the basic characteristics of this movement & its historical continuity & connection with the Franciscan charisma (Fonti francescane, 1993; K. Esser, 1983; A. Rotzetter, Th. Matura, 1984). In the context of the research results obtained, the author also considered the possibility of application of the concept of lifestyles as one of the postmodern theories including the need for togetherness & spiritual values in young people. In short, the results indicate that FRAMA is an ecclesiastical community of lay youth within the framework of the Catholic Church connected to the Franciscan order in which members of both genders equally, aged 14 to 30, have found their place. Apart from regular participation in liturgical events they meet once a week in an attempt to strengthen their faith together with their friends & through active ecclesiastical & social commitment to help people with their various needs. 22 Figures, 25 References.
