Zusammenfassung: | The KID Scale (Reuter and Bickett, 1985; Reuter and Reuter, 1990) and the KID‐N (Schneider et al., 1990) are development scales using parental observations of the behavioural competency of an infant made in the context of the rearing environment. The reported observations of healthy infants' behavioural repertoires by Dutch and US mothers were compared to determine the generalizability and utility of a Dutch translation of the KID Scale. The KID Scale and the KID‐N may be equally reliable, valid and useful within their own cultural context, but national differences in normative standards could occur because infant‐rearing attitudes of the reporting mothers differ. |
