Variability of price changes in OECD member countries

This paper considers differences in price changes for 12 countries within the decades 1960–1970 and 1970–1980. It shows that the higher inflation rates of the 1970s were not necessarily accompanied by larger relative price changes but almost invariably by larger year-to-year fluctuations.
