Ubiquitous nature of ambient metastable aerosol

Aqueous droplets are larger than their dry counterparts and generally scatter more light. The potential for atmospheric aerosol particles to exist as metastable aqueous droplets instead of in a crystalline solid phase was examined in a recent study.
