description Solid polymer blend electrolyte films based on polyethylene oxide (PEO) and polyvinyl acetate (PVAc) were prepared in various concentrations by solution-cast technique. The structure of these blend electrolyte films was determined using X-ray diffraction (XRD) studies. The composition of the blend was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Optical absorption studies were made in the wavelength range 200-600 nm. Optical properties like absorption edge and optical band gaps were estimated from their optical absorption spectra. It was found that the energy gaps and band edge values shifted to lower energies on blending with PVAc.
