Zusammenfassung: | Studies were carried out on a RT-cure epoxy (LY556 + HY951) composite system filled with the Al and Cu particles. Results showed that the wear loss and COF of both the composites increased with sliding distance and contact load for the range of filler content considered. Further, it was observed that the Cu-Epoxy composite exhibited superior wear resistance compared to the Al-Epoxy composites. From the experimental data, a ``wear endurance index'' was identified which can serve as a parameter to assess the long term wear life (residual wear life) of these composites. |
