A New Benzaldehyde of Nelumbo nucifera cv. Rosa-plena

A new benzaldehyde, (Z)-2-(1′-amino-2′-hydroxyvinyl)benzaldehyde ( 1 ) was isolated from the stems of Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn. cv. Rosa-plena . The structure of the new alkaloid was elucidated by chemical and physical evidence.
