description THE subject of this record was, in many respects, a remarkable man; and it is believed that his short but somewhat chequered life will supply lessons, both of instruction and admonition, which ought not to be altogether forgotten. He was the son of parents well known and deservedly esteemed in Margate; and was born May 19th, 1824. His home was, in an emphatic sense, a Christian one. He was solemnly dedicated to God from his earliest infancy; and the act of dedication was followed by a conscientious and careful training in the fear of the Lord, and in attachment to the Wesleyan-Methodist church, of which his parents were devoted and consistent members.
